Heartsaver AED
The Heartsaver AED course is approximately 3.5 hours and may be shorter depending on the number of students in each class. We offer one to one instruction as well. This course is for anyone who wants to learn CPR, personal trainers, daycare providers or people who are required to have this certification for work. Your American Heart Association card is good for two years. Prior to the completion of the class there is a skills exam. There is a book which is not included called Heartsaver AED Student Workbook. The infant component to this course is optional.
Upon completion of this course, you will be able to do the following:
- Describe the steps of CPR
- Perform one-person rescuer CPR for adults/children
- Give mouth-to-mouth and mouth-to barrier device
- Relieve a foreign body airway obstruction in a responsive or unresponsive victim
- AED use for adults/children
- Know how and when to activate the Emergency Response System
- The infant CPR component is optional
